The basics
Cop Drop runs free prize draws under UK Gambling Act 2005 exemption. Buying a ticket isn't a purchase of goods — it's an entry to a draw. The rules below explain when refunds are given, when they aren't, and how to ask for one.
For consumer rights covering the prize itself once it's been shipped (e.g. a faulty pair), see Section 8 of our Terms & Conditions.
When refunds are given
- Duplicate charge. If Stripe bills you twice for the same ticket because of a technical error, we refund the duplicate within 5 working days.
- Drop cancellation. If we cancel a drop before its close time — for example because of an authentication issue with the prize, a stock problem, or a platform incident — every paid ticket on that drop is refunded in full.
- Technical failure. If we charged you but your entry wasn't recorded in time for the draw, we either issue the entry retroactively (if the draw hasn't happened) or refund the ticket — your choice.
- Mistaken purchase. If you bought a ticket within the last 30 minutes by mistake and the drop is still open, email us and we'll cancel the entry and refund within 3 working days.
When refunds are not given
- The drop has closed and the winner has been drawn — entries are final once the draw runs.
- You didn't win. Tickets are entries to a draw, not deposits; losing entries are not refundable.
- You changed your mind after the drop closed. The 14-day distance-cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to lottery and prize-draw entries.
- You raised a chargeback without contacting us first. We will dispute these with evidence of the entry and the draw record.
Free entries
Free entries (the email or postal no-purchase route) carry no payment, so no refund applies. If something went wrong with a free entry — for example you didn't receive a confirmation reply — email us at hello@copdrop.xyz and we'll fix the entry record before the draw.
Winner can't accept the prize
If you win and you can't accept the prize for any reason — wrong size, address change, anything — contact us within 7 days of notification. We'll either:
- offer a cash equivalent of the kicks at retail, paid back via Stripe to the original card, or
- redraw the prize to the next ticket in the pool.
This is not a refund of the original ticket fee — winners can't unwin a draw — but ensures you're not left out of pocket on a prize you can't use.
How to request a refund
Email hello@copdrop.xyz with:
- The email used for the entry
- The drop number and ticket numbers
- The reason for the refund request
We respond within 3 working days. Approved refunds go back to the original card via Stripe and usually clear within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback — it's faster and cheaper for everyone. If you raise a chargeback without giving us a chance to resolve the issue, we'll respond to your bank with evidence of the entry, the draw record, and any prior correspondence. Frequent chargeback abuse may result in your account being closed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Cop Drop grows. The version that applies to a given entry is the one published when the ticket was bought. Material changes are flagged at the top with a new "Last updated" date.
